Award: Players, Performance of the Week

The Auburn University Athletic Department reports that two Tigers received player of the week awards from the Southeastern Conference:  Demond Washington and Michael Dyer.

Washington was named SEC Co-Special Teams Player of the Week while running back Michael Dyer was named SEC Tri-Freshman of the Week.

Auburn also reported that Washington received Paul Hornung's Most Versatile Performance of the Week Award for his efforts as a kick returner and cornerback.

Washington is a candidate for The Paul Hornung Award, an award created by the Louisville Sports Commission and designed to recognize versatile, high-level performers in major college football and help preserve the legacy of one of Kentucky's best known athletes.  You can read more about the Paul Hornung Award here.

The honors resulted from the performance of each player in the victory over Ole Miss.
